Paid time off remains the core element of employers’ Thanksgiving holiday plans, according to Bloomberg Law’s annual survey of year-end holiday practices. 97% of responding human resources executives indicated their organization will provide a full day off with pay for all or most of their employees on Thanksgiving, and 78%noted that Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after are both slated as paid holidays.
Bloomberg Law has been tracking Thanksgiving employer practices since 1980, and this year’s report is based on a survey of senior human resources and employee relations executives representing nearly 400 employers. The survey was administered in September 2018 and respondents represent a wide range of U.S. employers across various industries.
