What is the Bloomberg Law DEI Framework?
The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Framework is a listing of law firms that meet or exceed a rising standard for diversity, equity, and inclusion in their firm.
Standardized disclosure of diversity-related data allows firms to attract and retain talent, and also allows companies looking to procure legal services to easily compare law firms from a supplier diversity standpoint through the following benchmarks:

A note from the President
Last year we launched the inaugural edition of the Bloomberg Law DEI framework, a groundbreaking program designed to recognize law firms’ commitment to DEI through a rigorous, quantitative methodology. We were so impressed with the response – both from participants and the legal industry – that our biggest concern was how to keep the momentum going.
I am happy to report that interest in driving diversity, equity, and inclusion in the market for legal services has not waned. In fact, participation in this year’s DEI Framework was up nearly 50% from last year, with over 50 US-based law firms submitting data.
The results show clear signs of progress. For example, 70% of firms reported requiring diversity in the pool of candidates for management and leadership positions, compared to just 58% a year ago.
As with last year, our focus is on celebrating the firms who lead the pack on DEI initiatives. I want to congratulate those firms who made the list.
I also want to thank firms who submitted data but were not selected. We are committed to providing you valuable, data-driven feedback that will help your firm bolster its efforts in the future.

What are the eligibility criteria for inclusion in the Listing?
At this time, only U.S. based law firms are eligible for Listing inclusion and participation in the Framework.
Are law firms ranked?
No. The Listing is a catalog of all law firms that meet or exceed an established threshold of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
What is Bloomberg Law’s policy for data collected as part of the Framework?
A full description of the DEI data policy can be found at: https://www.bloombergindustry.com/privacy-policy/.
Is there any cost associated with submitting data or inclusion in the Listing?
No. Submitting data and inclusion in the Listing is free to all U.S. law firms.
Will my firm’s data be available online?
No, any individual firm responses submitted will not be identified, included, or published on our website or in the Listing itself. However, the firms included in the Listing will be publicly available on our website. Aggregate high-level findings—including overall reported industry demographics and percentage of firms with various policies—will also be available on this website once all data is analyzed in Q3 2022. Firms who make the Listing may also have an identifier attached to their firm profile within the Bloomberg Law platform and on the Bloomberg Terminal.
What if I submit data and don’t make the Listing?
Names of firms that do not meet or exceed the established threshold of diversity, equity, and inclusion specified by the Framework will not be disclosed. Scoring breakdowns and a summary report will be available to all firms who submit their data.
